A grandfather attempts to pull his two grandsons out their collective boredom with a twisted fairy tale out of Trump’s America. Inspired by true events, “American Paradise” is a story of desperation and disguise that features characters from the upcoming Sundance-supported feature, “The Last Black Man in San Francisco.”

Joe Talbot is a filmmaker whose work has shown at Sundance, SXSW, and Harlem's Apollo Theater. A fifth-generation San Francisco native, Talbot received a fellowship to the Sundance Screenwriters Lab for his upcoming feature-film "The Last Black Man in San Francisco." Talbot was recently profiled in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces issue, as among the top new filmmakers to watch and his work has been covered in VICE, The Atlantic, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Indiewire and the San Francisco Chronicle.
