About the Director(s):

Elivia is an award-winning filmmaker from Washington, DC. She is driven by filmmaking that uses intimacy and personal narrative to question our larger social systems and cultural identities. Through her films, she hopes to create visceral, visual experiences that break barriers between people and enable self-reflection. Her work has been featured on the Atlantic, PBS, Short of the Week and Vimeo Staff Picks and screened at festivals including AFI DOCS, DOC NYC and Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. After graduating from New York University, she worked on Emmy and Academy Award winning television series and feature documentaries for Al Jazeera, National Geographic, HBO and PBS. She is a graduate of Stanford University’s Documentary Film MFA program.
